By The World Ambassador TWA ______ The Embassy of Sweden in Pakistan hosted an elegant reception on Thursday at the Swedish Residence to commemorate Sweden’s National Day and to celebrate 75 years of diplomatic relations between Sweden and Pakistan. The event gathered distinguished guests including high-ranking government officials, diplomats, business leaders, and civil society representatives. A central highlight of the evening was the launch of a commemorative publication, "75 Years of Partnership – Sweden and Pakistan", along with a mini exhibition that traced key historical moments and the impactful presence of Swedish enterprises in Pakistan. More than 40 Swedish companies are currently operating in Pakistan, representing various sectors of the economy.

The evening featured a live performance of Swedish music by local artists, adding cultural flavor to the celebration. Ambassador Alexandra Berg von Linde, while addressing the gathering, underscored the strength of the bilateral relationship, remarking, “Our common journey is a story of many voices.”

Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication, Ms. Shaza Fatima Khawaja, who was the chief guest, acknowledged Sweden’s role in fostering innovation, technology, and sustainable development in Pakistan. She emphasized the need to deepen cooperation in areas such as digital transformation and inclusive growth. The Embassy expressed its commitment to enhancing collaboration in sectors including climate change, trade, innovation, education, and gender equality – aiming for a modern and resilient partnership
